Autumn in Central Park by Rod Chase

Autumn in Central Park by Rod Chase

In the "City That Never Sleeps," Central Park provides a respite from the frenetic pace of activity for which New York is famous.

Within the park, Bow Bridge is one of the most romantic and best-loved attractions. The first cast-iron bridge in Central Park, it was built between 1859 and 1862, and it is named for its graceful shape, resembling the bow of an archer or violinist.

To create an even more intimate view, I removed all the visitors from the bridge and painted it during one of my favorite seasons, autumn.

A Foggy Morning in Paris by Rod Chase

A Foggy Morning in Paris by Rod ChaseMaterializing from the fog on a crisp winter day, the Eiffel Tower stands quietly in all its splendor and glory. Close by, near the Seine River, stands a lone souvenir shop inviting tourists to step out of the cold. It’s unusually still and beautiful – a foggy day in the City of Lights.

Uncommon Valor by Rod Chase

Uncommon Valor Rod Chase

(Uncommon Valor Was A Common Virtue)

My painting, Uncommon Valor, pays tribute to the men and women of the United States Marine Corps. Standing to the right of the memorial is our son in his dress blues.

The United States Marine Corps War Memorial (also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial) represents this nation’s gratitude to Marines and those who have fought beside them. While the statue depicts one of the most famous incidents of World War II, the memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in defense of the United States since 1775.
