Mark Keathley loves to paint scenes of the American West because of the action and adventure that our minds so long to be a part of. Mowing our grass or driving to work leave us feeling the need for the adventure we were created for. Seeing it on the big screen fills that void for an hour or two, but the emptiness returns. Adventure, though, doesn't have to be on the back of a horse but can be in the form of "wrangling" a lie from someone close to you or "branding" them with belonging. Imagine the stories that can be drawn out from these epic western paintings.
